Update: Guerrero in for Puig who was a last-minute scratch because of an open callous on his left hand. Gross. Ouch.
Hendricks gave up 6 ER in 5 innings in Minnesota on Friday and took the loss. He pitched in LA last August and went 7 strong, allowing 1 ER and getting the win. Puig and Turner are 1-3 against him.
Bolsinger has struggled (not scuffled!) of late. In his last start, against the Giants, he gave up 5 ER in 5.1. His first MLB win came at Wrigley in April of last year when he was pitching for AZ. He allowed 1 unearned run in 6.2. He has pitched better at home. A few Cubs have faced him, but no one has more than 3 ABs; only LaStella has a hit.
Kyle Schwarber caught, hit third, and went 0-4 in his debut at Iowa last night. Fowler looked a little gimpy after his PH BB last night and is still on the shelf. The team is still hopeful that Wada will make his start on Saturday, even though he’s still a little sore after throwing yesterday.
We have a new high-water mark at 9 games over .500. And with Transmission’s recaps and the well-orchestrated interference of infants, there’s no telling how far the team might go.
Go Cubs!
