Jim Hendry on Jim Rome

Reader "Chad" sent me along this file of Jim Hendry doing a "phoner" on the Jim Rome show. I believe it was from yesterday's program. I can't say there was anything too revealing in it, but I'm sure some of you will want to take a listen.

You can download the file from here.

That call was......(pause).....awesome!

Jim Rome is an ig-nor-am-os....(pause) awesome!

ESPN has an article on Prior for those who are interested.

Yeah that was good. Thanks Chad.

I heard that interview live. On the radio. I liked the beginning.

Jim Rome: We're here with Cubs GM, Jim Hendry. How's it going, Jim?
Jim Hendry: Real good, Jimmy.
Jim Rome: Boy, it's great to hear your voice, Jim.
Jim Hendry: It's great to hear yours, too, Jimmy.
(1-2 minute pause in which you can barely hear some sort of heavy panting)
Jim Rome: Boy, that was great, Jim. I think I just...
...
...
came.
Jim Hendry: Way ahead of ya, Jimmy. You give the best phone interviews in the business, Jimmy.

Yeah, it was good radio. I even had to take a shower afterwards.

Because I felt dirty, ya pervs. Not because I was turned on.

Geez...

lmao...

What?!

I love you JD.

I don't know what it is, but all my fake conversations between famous people end up taking a turn to the ghey. Kelly Dwyer says I should edit more, but who's got the time?

*looks left*

*looks right*

*cough*

I hear the deal just needs to be finalized...anytime now, should be a Cub by next week, 2010 at the latest.

I heard that, too.

On the Score.

"2010 at the latest"

lol, you slay me.

You guys do know its Brian not Brain right? Just thought I'd throw that in there. My real name is Brian Roberts and people have spelled my name Brain my whole life. My mom even spelled it that way on my birth certificate and had to change it.

sorry typo on my part...

ROB G.: sorry typo on my part...

That's what GO CUBBIES'S mom said!

thanks for the info Brain - if I make that mistake when I have kids I'm going to leave it. Like Jhonny Peralta

Crunch Cramer, Danger Seeker!

I didn't notice if you guys ever closed the discussion on the comments structure but I looked behind the scenes and saw that you were using drupal and so I looked to the top and saw that, sure enough, there's an option for users to flatten comments.

Sorry if that's 3/44.

Yeah, it's been mentioned... :)

Guess I should put that FAQ to use and mention it. Probably should put it in the registration email you get as well.

Why does it not surprise me that Chad listens to Jim Rome?

  • Reds pitching meeting tomorrow:

"Hey coach...maybe we should walk Bryant?"
"No...keep challenging him with fastballs! What kind of man are you?! The Cubs walked Harper, and look what happened there! They got teased for it, by one of the Nat players! Is that what you want?"

  • How can I get that feature? I think it woudl be a win-win for all involved.

  • Ian Happ is hitting.733 after 5 games at Tennessee. He went into tonight's game hitting .667 -- and went 3-for-3 to raise his average.

2-for-3, including a bomb, for LaStella at Iowa. Pierce Johnson very bad -- 2IP, 5ER. Pitching prospects not looking so hot -- Underwood has been awful.

Did Jiminez get hurt? I noticed he came out early yesterday.

  • Contreras keeps hitting/walking like this, and Miggy keep up the poor D and lack of offense - the kid could be the #1 catcher very soon.

  • it doesn't hurt that the Cardinals lose the KC and the Pirates lost too.

  • ...still trying to process what I just saw. From both KB and Jake. Walking Billy Hamilton twice is a cry for help. I think the nudie photos are messing with Jake's head.

  • Hopefully Peralta's time on the Cubs roster will be shorter than R. Soriano's.

  • it took 9 pitches for peralta to give up his 1st cubs homer. neat.

  • damn...totally missed that ruben quevedo died on june 7th. he was only 37...heart attack.

he threw some really horrible games for the cubs in 2000 and followed it up by doing the same for 3 season for the brewers.

  • Hitting 3 HR, 2 doubles in a game. Never been done in mlb history per Len/Bob.

  • walks? this is baseball, not a nature hike. he needs to get his head in the game.

in my opinion, he would have been better off hitting 2 homers rather than walking twice. /moneyballs
