Serious question: Would D Lee consider waiving his no-trade clause to go "home" to the Giants or A's? And if he would, is it feasible for either team to want his contract? Would Hendry even have the balls to consider it? Both SF and Oakland need offense at 1B (badly), and the Cubs have Micah, who's a better power hitter than Lee at this point in his career. I think Hoffpauir is nearly as good with the glove at 1B to boot. That would shake up this team some! It would be nice if Hendry could swing a replacement for Fontenot in exchange, and push Fonty back to bench where he's a much better asset. I also strongly endorse Phil's plan for dumping Bradley at the earliest possible opportunity. It was a risky idea, it was a bad idea, and it will kill this team unless Hendry can cut the cord. I'd get Jimmy Ballgame on the horn and make sure he's getting himself into shape. I'm trying to re-build the 2008 team here as best I can. Why the hell did the Cubs feel the need to ruin a good thing? In the interest of being "more left-handed"?? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Yes, lets' bring back Edmonds, and while we're at it why not Clement, Sosa, Alou and Prior? Teams that try to bring back the same team that had a great run the previous year, almost always fail. You have to recognize when you get 'lightning in a bottle' like Edmonds. Then, you don't do the stupid thing like the Cards did after they won the WS and bring Edmonds back, paying him $9.5 million to slug .400 - you shake his hand and let him go, and realize you got lucky. You do realize that the Cardinals had to pay San Diego to take Edmonds off their hands, right?

DLee update from the sun-times: Lee said the injury is the result of a bulging disc that occasionally flares up on him, causing him to miss a week two seasons ago and a few days last season. ''It doesn't so much hurt as it just locked up on me again,'' said Lee, who hopes to play tonight. ''I just woke up funny.     i would say that's good news compared to screwing it up swinging, but i'm not familiar with the recovery time of people screwing up their oblique by running.

    right side is at least different from his left side oblique injury last year.

    I'll always remember his 3-0 No-hitter against the Braves when Aaron's HR was blown back into the LF well and BIlly Williams made the catch with his back against the ivy.
