Two Cubs trade rumors from this morning - the first comes from CBS Sportsline:
The Chicago Cubs, who already made a big splash with pitcher Rich Harden, are exploring deals to add a lefty-hitting right fielder. The Cubs have inquired about Seattle's Raul Ibanez, San Diego's Brian Giles and Kansas City's David DeJesus, according to sources.
I think pretty much any left-handed hitting outfielder is going to be associated with the Cubs over the next few hours. Lo and behold, we have some rumblings from the cubs.com board that Jim has asked the Rangers about Milton Bradley.
As Robert Ripley would say - Believe it or Not!
The Cubs go for blood today with Rich Harden taking the mound. After a 112-pitch duel with Randy Johnson, he was lifted after 87 pitches against the Marlins and possibly worried about some shoulder tightness. We'll see if he can keep up his remarkable 15.58 K/9 rate as a Cub. We'll see if he can pick up his first win as a Cub as well.
For the Brewers, it's Dave Bush on the mound. Always a pre-season sleeper pick for fantasy teams because of glossy walk to strikeout ratio, he seems to be unable to put together any success over the course of a season. He is sporting a 2.85 home ERA though and Ned Yost is going to platoon him and Seth McClung as the Brewers fifth starters (3.32 road ERA) depending on the venue.
