Who were the last two college football teams to play at Wrigley? (hint neither have football programs anymore) (one last hint Midwest teams)

man...b.harper hustles on everything. popup to shallow RF...he's 1/2 way to 2nd on an easy out. now if he could quit taking every moment, AB, and pitch of the game personally. ...and if soriano could watch and learn...

What I learned watching the opening announcers for the NU Ill game today. You have your Sheffield (Avenue) and your Wavefield (Avenue)....

Jim Leyritz murders someone and the fix is in...on a Saturday, of course. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101120/ap_on_sp_ba_ne/bbo_leyritz_fatal_cr… "Testimony was inconclusive on whether Leyritz ran a red light on Dec. 28, 2007, when he collided with a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Fredia Ann Veitch, who died. Defense experts testified that Leyritz may have been below Florida's 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level when the crash occurred, even though it was 0.14 percent three hours later." Donte Stallworth approves. Fuck Florida. This is disgusting.

I read this blog almost daily but seldom comment, your baseball insight is far beyond me. However, when we start talking pizza, I have to put in my two cents. I spent several years as a touring musician and have had slices of pizza throughout the US and Europe (note in Germany, the word that looks like pepperoni is not pepperoni, it is pepperchini peppers). NY/NJ, hands down, have the best slices of pizza plus you can get served and on your way in less than 30 minutes. My Chicago pizza attempts have ended in debacles. I'm sure there are some great local spots, but the locals we asked did not apparently send us to them. However, Chicago does have the best after gig, go out on the town because there are certain cheap dive bars that don't close until god only remembers what hours. BTW, thanks for all the great Cubs discussions and information this site provides. Whenever I have Cubs discussions with my friends that are casual fans, I appear to be a genius armed with the insight you all have provided. Thanks.

What's with the odd formatting in the comments? Some of the later ones are appearing before the earlier ones (even if they aren't in response to any other comment). The order is all messed up.

"Talks between the A's and Japanese right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma have broken off, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle." ...and the A's ruin that for everyone, including Iwakuma. they knew they didn't need a SP that badly or wanted to spend the money...though Iwakuma is supposedly demanding 15+m a year...which is stupid.

steele MRI on friday.  counsell expects an IL stint.

no current plans for his rotation replacement.

I would say also in the bright side column is Busch looked pretty good overall at the plate. Alzolay…man, that hurts but most of the time he’s not giving up a homer to that guy. To me the worst was almonte hanging that pitch to Garcia. He hung another one to the next hitter too and got away with it on an 0-1.

amaya blocked like 6-8 of smyly's pitches in the dirt very cleanly...not even an exaggeration, smyly threw a ton of pitches bouncing in tonight.

neris looking like his old self was a relief (no pun), too.

In looking for bright spots the defense was outstanding tonight. The “stars” are going to need to shine quite a bit brighter than they did tonight offensively though for this to be a successful season.

Good baseball game. Hopefully Steele is pitching again in April (but I’m not counting on it).

    boo.

smyly to face the 2/3/4 hitters with a man on 2nd in extras.

this doesn't seem like a 8 million dollar managerial decision.

i 100% agree with you, but i dunno how jed wants to run things.  the default is delay.  i would choose brown.

like hellfrozeover says, could be smyly since he's technically fresh and stretched.

anyway, on a pure talent basis....brown is the best option.

Use pitchers when you believe they're good. Don't plan their clock.

I'm sorry. I'm simply anti-clock/contract management. Play guys when they show real MLB potential talent.

If Brown hadn't been hurt with the Lat Strain he would've gotten the call, and not Wick.

    Give him a chance.

    But Wesneski probably gets it
