Saturday funnies: fake Cubs commercial

Man.
Getting kinda antsy for some trading to happen as I watch this team of dead men walking (or striking out or whatever).
I know.
Patience, right?
Yeah, we all have a little practice at that.
Oh well, I get a little ranty, I make a cartoon.
Can't wait to make some happy ones in the future.

once again, the Cardinals show new ways to prove how intelligent they are (for under $700K)...

I had no idea there was an Alaska Summer Leauge.

Iowa split a double header vs Nashville yesterday, oddly they have another double header today. Must be fun for the pitching staffs.

...at least we don't have to worry about extending our franchise record 1 run loss string today.

5 runs for Shark in 3.1 innings.

go #1 draft choice. Sing with me, Go Pad's Go.

Not at all saying it is his fault in SD or Chicago, but it does seem amazing that we would have to give compensation to sign someone for gm when his current and previous team are tied for the worst record in baseball.

well done Tim....

Untouchable Samardzija having a rough go today vs. the Twins.

jump on the John Gaub DFA train and grab him.

Indians, Cubs, Rays, Rangers and now Cards.

...why am i watching this?

and how many times will i do this to myself?

this game needs more shawn camp.

for what little it's worth

...sources suggest the Cubs will land the 20-year-old outfielder(Soler), who was recently declared a free agent.
“They have spent a lot of time with him,’’ the source said of the Cubs.

also says Blue Jays might be willing to deal some of their young pitching to make a run this year.

another sori-homer...12th...he hit his 1st of the season May 15th...

If only the Twins were in contention...we might be able to convince them to acquire Soriano to make a run.

Props to Soriano for increasing his trade value. I guess knocking an ounce off his bat has made a bit of difference after all.

cubs lose 3-11.

19-40 overall...tied with the padres for best in futility.

Padres are beating the Brewers 4-2 in the 6th...

almost in first place

j.verlander throws his 3rd 120+ pitch game of the year (127)...131 and 123 the others...

he threw 10 last season.

he threw 11 in 2010...including 3 back-to-back...and 5 back-to-back.

The I-Cubs won the first game of their DH, 1-0.

1st inning HR by Matt Tolbert was the difference.

Peoria Chiefs ahead 4-0, Kyler Burke pitching thru 4 with 5 K's.

my favorite cartoons since rocky & bullwinkle...

Bullwinkle: Hey, Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

Rocky: That trick never works.

Bullwinkle: Nothin' up my sleeve... Presto!

  • that was some joke ass official scoring giving him a double. either way, seager's on 2nd and soler's play in the OF is still sketchy.

  • Schwarber is worse right?

  • Seager with the two out double *cough* to left field in the bottom of the fourth. If Soler just plays that bunny hop off his nuts, it's a single - certainly no double.

  • been like that everytime I've been there too including Jack Murphy/Qualcomm Stadium. Cubs travel well. It was pretty loud for Angels/Cubs this year and decent for Dodgers/Cubs but Dodger fans definitely turn out better than the Padre fans.
