Welcome to a little something the rest of baseball calls “The World Series.” Evidently, it’s a big deal
Lester went 7 innings of one-run ball against the Dodgers in Game Six, after doing six innings of the same thing in Game One. It was good enough to earn him the co-MVP with Baez. It’s regular day to pitch, which is a bonus. He’s 1-0 with a 1.10 in starts against the Indians in 2015 and 2014 and 3-0 with a 0.43 in three World Series starts.
The Indians have hit the former American Leaguer really well, 48-157 (.306). Napoli (6-10, 2 HRs) and Davis (14-64, HR) are the biggest threats.
Kluber took the loss in Game Four of the ALCS against the Blue Jays, giving up 2 ERs in 5 innings. His other two outings (13.1 total innings) were scoreless wins, against those Jays in Game One and the Red Sox Game Two of the ALDS.
Kluber has done well against these Cubs. They are 4-41 (.098) against him. Rizzo and Ross are 1-3; Zobrist is 1-13.
Game Two features Arrieta (or possibly Lackey, to preserve Jake's bat) versus Bauer or Tomlin, depending on the progress of Bauer’s now-famous pinkie.
Go Cubs!
