Oh dear, I think Lou has the interleague schedule confused with the preseason one. I'll be the first to say it - THIS LINEUP SUCKS!

That should be good for three to four runs off Halladay. They'll probably need five with Marquis on the mound though.

seem to have an old Edmonds scouting report, leaving the left side almost completely open.

how did he not go to third when the ball hit Lee on the throw home?

Only thing I can figure is he didn't realize the ball got past him. Pitcher was back there backing it up, so he would have had to go right away.

yeah, but he's earning his 6.3m this year it seems. hell, he didnt do too bad for a 4.75m guy last year. i don't get it...why don't they just pay him 6.3m next year, too. i don't understand how this works.

"Marquis is 4-0 with a 3.09 ERA over his past six starts and helped the Cubs pick up their first victory on artificial turf since Sept. 1, 2004, at Montreal." So much for your prognostication, Rob. Is anyone else worried about Howry? He's been shitty...

Paul Sullivan said Edmonds "showboated" on his error trying to make a basket catch and ripped the official scorer for calling it a hit at first before changing his mind. Why does Sully hate Edmonds so much? Why is Sully such a hack?

I don’t buy that. They had been doing that for years.

They did it with Matt Holliday. They did it with John Lackey. They did it with Mark Mulder. They did it with Jason Heyward, who had a great year for them. I’m sure there’s more but those come to mind immediately.

I attribute it more to a breakdown in what they’re doing in terms of development than a culture thing.

They won those trades and sacrificed their culture. That’s exactly their problem.

The other part that’s kind of crazy is they made two very high profile trades, one for Goldschmidt and one for Arenado, and they very clearly won those trades. They just haven’t been able to develop players the last handful of years the way they usually do.

I guess the moral there is it’s hard to stay on top of your game and be good at what you do in perpetuity.

Marmol was extended at the beginning of the year. Two years I believe.

Craig Counsell doesn’t have a timetable for Cody Bellinger who technically has two cracked ribs on his right side. CT scan showed it today.

Thought it might have been David Peralta given the open 40 man spot and how PCA has played so far.

I hope they keep Mozeliak a few more years. Marmol too!

wow, counsell coming with the early lineup.  rarity.

    PCA called up.

    welp...

    bellinger...fractured rib.

a not-very-ready PCA will probably be called up when it would be much better for him to be in AAA getting regular ABs.
