I'm sure I'm not thinking of a team, but seems like everyone except maybe the Yankees is set at 2b and Yanks have plenty of options there. And I know we all hate Barney, but his 3-year WAR at 2b is 4.9 which puts him 20th overall (go defense). Don't think the Cubs would sell him for nothing, otherwise they would have just avoided the whole offering arbitration mess. As for trading him to be a backup, well they'd get nothing back in return if that was the case and I don't think that's what they want to do here. And there's just not a lot of trades during spring training.
valbuena had a hot winter league, but has been disappointing this spring (so far).
i think a lot will have to do with whether his shoulder is ready to play 3rd this spring and how he looks there when he gets back to the position...and/or pending a bat collapse.
valbuena has the advantage of being able to play an average+ 2nd base, so he's not useless off the bench or as a part-time player. olt has the advantage of actually being a 3rd prospect who's well capable of playing 3rd without the question of position move that haunts many 3rd prospects (such as bryant).
