the wsox ran out of pitchers in the 14th...ventura put l.garcia (2nd/OF) in to throw 75-78mph "fastballs" to the rsox...it didn't work out too well.
garcia got 2 outs via the fielders...then he walked a couple guys and gave up a 2 run double.
wsox lose...lulz were had.
-deleted- weird double post thing before the site crashed.
cubs 4-10...shut out in a double header for the first time since 1962...awesome.
Reminds me of when Trestman had the Bears try a 47 yard field goal on 2nd down ... hopefully just rookie coach jitters. But it sucks to be making excuses for him already.
I'm cool with playing more small ball, but that's kinda ridiculous.
So much for that theory. The best they finished was 4th.
Edwin Jackson got 4/52.
Who does that in the 5th inning, period, much less in the first month of the season for a last place ball club? It's beyond stupid. I'm stumped.
he's already been asked to sac twice this year (not counting sac flies)...he has 1 sac total in his career before this season. yeah, it's a short career...but this is only his 10th game of the year.
kalish Ks...barney pops out...neat.
Totally ridiculous. Welly bunting with Kalish and Barney on deck is almost inexplicable.
welly bunting with men on 1st/2nd, no outs, and r.kalish due up.
one of the guys capable of hitting a double or homer...bunting...in the 5th inning...with a DH/AL lineup.
Sure didn't take long for the Cubs to get back to PAINFUL to watch.
Send him down.
darwin "buckner" barney...wow...that's a rare whiff on a fielding try.
