Peter Matt at third?

I didn't expect to see that.

He played 3B in high school, so it could just be a way to get him on the field for some PAs... however,  by all acounts he seems to be generally a pretty good athlete & have a strong arm, so maybe they are thinking about some longer term positional flexibility?

I wish we had a slugging 3B/OF type...

Chris Morel is a slugger that plays 3b and outfield.  The question is whether or not he will make enough contact to be useful.

Patrick Wisdom too!

I was trying to make a funny about pining for Kris Bryant but clearly did not stick the landing!

But do Wisdom or Morel have dreamy blue eyes? Huh?

Another key element that no fancy stats take into account.  Not bWAR or fWAR or WARP, let alone wRC+.

wsox expected to exercise kimbrel's $16m option (vs 1m buyout) and attempt to trade him over the winter.

I love their optimism.

they're gonna have to eat a few million to get anything worth a damn, and even then that's a gamble.
