ORIGINAL POST 3/6:
Here are the 2019 Cubs Minor League Camp rosters as of 12 noon 3/6.
The rosters will be updated as changes are made.
Keep in mind that players at Minor League Camp are often initially assigned to a level one or sometimes two (or even three) levels above where they will be on Opening Day. As players are sent to Minor League Camp from the MLB squad (the first "batch cut" should be next Sunday or Monday), there is a cascade effect as corresponding roster moves are made at each level (players are moved-down or released).
Players who were selected by the Cubs in the AAA Phase of the 2018 MLB Rule 5 Draft (Rafelin Lorenzo, Luis Lugo, and Alexander Vargas) must be assigned to AAA Iowa for at least the first 15 days of Minor League Camp (Spring Training), but after that the players can be assigned to any of the Cubs minor league affiliates without restriction.
There are no players who spent the 2018 season in the DSL at Cubs Minor League Camp, there are no 2018-19 IFA at Cubs Minor League Camp, and almost two dozen players who played in the AZL in 2018 are not at Minor League Camp, either.

This open up a spot for Zagunis unless there is a trade or a waiver claim.
lester pulls off a bouncing pickoff throw to 1st (runner taking a 15-20ft+ lead) and gets a huge pop from the cubs fans in the crowd...safe, btw.
baez with HR #2 of the spring, both in back to back games. in his next AB he missed another homer by about 10ft...
lester only ends up lasting 4 innings (with a disaster 3rd inning to match the 1st) and he's ready to put this spring behind him.
15.1ip 23h 6bb 17k, 3hr, 10.57era
s.cishek destroys his spring numbers with a 0.1ip 5h 1bb, 5er outing...5 scoreless outings over 4.1ip (2h 2bb) before this...
25 pitch, 3 run 1st for lester...3 Ks, though
he's flirting with ending his spring with a 10.00+ ERA unless he puts things together in the following innings before he hits his pitch count limit.
I'll betcha Happ is pissed.
he didn't get cheated on chances this spring and failed to deliver.
he did look good playing 2nd, though...so that's a plus given how meh-to-average he's traditionally looked there. maybe he'll get more looks there in AAA rather than the OF.
Definitely a surprise. Based on his spring campaign and continued swing and miss issues, it’s deserved.
i.happ to open the season in AAA.
that's a mild surprise.
looks like almora's role just got elevated.
j.hammel (TEX) is retiring. he was in TEX camp on a minor league deal and he had a decent spring. he was also very recently added to the 25-man roster and made the major league team. evidently he simply wants to go home and be with his family.
also, p.goldschmidt (STL) signs a 5/130m extension
Best Cubs pitchers FB velo at the Langley game:
Yunior Perez 93-96 (a beast... absolutely unhittable... obviously)
Danis Correa: 91-94 - T-95 (also threw a couple of nice secondaries)
Jeremiah Estrada: 92-94 (struggled with FB command the deeper he got into inning)
Jose Albertos couldn't command his FB at all so he threw a lot of CV and CH (which were excellent)
RAISIN: Throwing bullpens means the pitcher is throwing off a bullpen mound on a regular schedule but is not pitching in games. It's usually done so that the pitcher and a designated pitching coach can work on a particular mechanical issue that needs to be addressed.
Hi Arizona Phil - does throwing bullpens mean they were previously injured and working back from the setback? And do you know what ailent Brendon Little has?
BRADSBEARD: I strongly suspect he will be a piggy-backer.
Surprised they are stretching Clark out. Doesn’t seem like there is a rotation spot for him and he just seems like a guy who is best suited for a pen role. Perhaps they’ll keep him in more of a multi-inning relief role.
HAGSAG: Danny Zardon is 24 years old and he played HS ball with recently-signed Cubs minor league OF Brandon Vicens at American Heritage School in Plantation, FL, and he attended LSU before transferring to Nova Southeastern. He was the 17th round draft pick of the Philadelphia Phillies in 2016 and played in the Phillies organization for two seasons before being released. He then signed with Joliet (Frontier League) where he played in 2017-18. The Cubs signed him this week and are converting him to catcher (he previously played 3B and little bit of 2B and 1B).
Who is Danny Zardon-C?
