Early season Tennessee is gonna be a fun team to follow! Like you said I imagine a few of those guys will be in Iowa by the end of June.
I'm trying to figure out why they sent Amaya to AA. The only thing I can think of is weather as he can get more consistent work early in the seaaon

Well, one Riley pitched pretty well yesterday.
Tennessee will be an interesting follow. I like PCA starting at Tennessee - get hot and move up to Iowa. Seeing Davis and Amaya get through a season without extended DL stints would be a victory in itself.

32 years old, has no roster flexibility because he’s out of options. Roster flexibility is huge in middle relief. Has never been a good MLB pitcher other than that sample size as a reliever last year.

Trey Lang was on the Cubs Voluntary Retired List since 2015 and so he was still under club control per the original contract he signed with the Cubs after being drafted in 2012.
The Cubs could have released him when he decided to make his comeback last year, but they obviously saw something in his bullpen side sessions to warrant a look.
Prior to resuming his baseball career, he had worked out at a local Phoenix training center and had his FB velo up to 98 (after not pitching for seven years). So he decided to give baseball another shot, but it just didn't work out.
In the one game I saw him pitch in a few days ago, it was pretty ugly...
Trey Lang: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 3 R (3 ER), 5 BB, 1 K, 0/1 GO/AO, 37 pitches (14 strikes)
If he still has the itch, maybe he will try independent baseball.

2.34 OBA vs lefites
2.87 era as a reliever. 3.19 xFIP as a reliever. 10.46 K/9
Hes worth a roster spot on someone's team. Maybe he doesn't beat out someone like Borucki but either way there's some tough 40 man decision was my original point.

amaya catching 7 innings...aww yeah. ready for him to resume his career...again.

He’s older, he was perfectly fine last year in non-leverage situations. He’s not worth a 40-man spot though. There’s really no one worth cutting for him.

Rucker has options and if he survived the off-season 40 man, idk why they would boot him now. I also can't imagine Hosmer signed a deal with the Cubs without some promise they would give him some run. Madrigal is interesting. I hope they do find a trading partner bc he is kindof an awkward fit. Tho we haven't heard anything about Hoerners bicep yet so fingers crossed.

Why? Dude was really good when he went to the pen full time.
