Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the theater..? St. Louis wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t all that pretty, either. Let’s change our passwords, lick our wounds, and get back at it.
Hendricks lost to LA his last time out (5 IP, 4 ER, 2 HR). In his game against the Mets last August, he lasted 7 and give up 1 ER for the win. The Mets are 2-19 against him. Duda has a HR.
Niese had a rough May (1-4, 5.67 ERA) and hasn’t won since May 9. He had a no decision in Milwaukee his last time out (6 IP, 2 ER). In his loss to the Cubs this year, he gave up 6 runs (4 earned) in 6.1 for the loss. He is 0-2 with a 3.46 ERA so far in June. The Cubs are 31-123 (.252) against him. Fowler is 4-14 with a HR. Rizzo is 2-13.
Lester-less Ross is in for Montero against the lefty, and Niese bats 8th for the Mets. This happened when we played the Reds, too: managers started to follow Maddon’s lead. It makes absolutely no sense to only do it against the Cubs. That is some mojo Maddon has there.
Go Cubs!
