Arrieta Pitches Another No-hitter

He did it--again! Unbelievable.

Go Jake!

At the end of the 2015 season, at least for me, there was a sense of "yeah, that was nice, but was it a fluke? Can he continue to be successful, if not dominant." Jake Arrieta has proven it, in my opinion. He's one of the best in the game. That 2-seamer he throws in the mid-90's with great accuracy- the one that catches the outside corner of the plate absolutely devours right-handed batters. AND his batting line (Jake was 2-4 with a BB last night) is: 273/333/545 For comparison, here's Kris Bryant: 273/333/500

He really hasn't had his best stuff this year either yet and certainly last night he wasn't sharp and his not-sharp can still no hit teams. It's pretty ridiculous. I just hope Madden sticks to limiting his innings a bit more this year so he's the same in the playoffs. It was also great to see how excited everyone was for Ross. I feel like there's going to be that much more incentive this year to win it all for him.

And, with that, we have reached the 10% mark of the season. Cubs on track for 120 wins. And they haven't started hitting yet.

Well, game 29 on the year was a hell of a game. That felt like a throwback, too. I had a feeling Morel had a shot at catching up to that fastball.

cubs finally get to sole control of 1st place in the central.

MIL out here stealing 3rd with 1 out and down by 1 in the bottom 9th.

it worked.  this MIL team is annoyingly fun to watch so far this year...

it took him 24 pitches, 2 walks, 2 Ks...but he got it done.  woo.

    Full pack!

neris still doesn't have his command/control...

i don't expect it to dog him all season, much like i don't expect alzolay to be a HR machine.

i'll take alzolay over neris to close out a game, though...over leiter, too.

MOREL HR!  his first homer in like, 3 years or something...or feels like it.

top of the 9th, 2 run shot off f'n diaz to break the tie.

swanson breaks it up in the 8th with a single.
