Something to keep in mind about Brad Snyder is that he is out of minor league options, and because he has been outrighted previously in his career he has the right to be a free-agent if he is outrighted back to the minors. This won't matter if Snyder comes up and sucks, but if he were to do well, like maybe if he hits a couple of HR and plays well in RF (he has one of the top OF arms in the organization), Tony Campana (with three minor league options available) and Lou Montanez (who has two minor league options left) would probably get sent down before Snyder, even if all three are playing well.

He does! He needs a cigar.

Crap, no excuse not to mow my lawn, then.

Game update: Cubs say it will not start on time, no time given, but they hope to get the game in. Storm is moving due East towards Wrigley, and I'm 30 miles from Chicago and it's not raining here, just looks like the aftermath of Armageddon. Maybe they'll get a window or two to play most of the game in.

I was thinking he looked like Hell Boy.

Why is Clint Hurdle red as a beet? I just saw a clip of Hill throwing out Garret Jones (Hill was trying to throw the ball into RF but Castro ran over and caught it while tagging Jones before he got to 2nd). Hurdle came out to argue the call and looked like the Red Hulk. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=15267009&topic_id=&c_id=ch…

It's pouring at Wrigley. Whoah! and noisy! Thunder.

Q-Ball: I guess Q wants to see what if he can "stir something up" at the end of the order. Someone needs to tell him Geo is back and the new guy, Snyder, can play all three positions in the outfield.

BTW, weather is crap in Chicago again, raining, dark, gloomy, and more rain on the radar. http://www.accuweather.com/us/radar/re/il_/radar.asp

I like Campana hitting 7th where he can get on base for Hill and Dempster to drive in. And if they don't, Fuku with his 3 rbi's will surely get him home.

crap, scrap, Castro, crap, crap, Bozo, scrap, crap, Dempster

    No Colvin?

Per muskat... Fuku, barney, castro, aram, pena, bozo, campana, hill and dempster (not sure if that was before soto got activated, or if his flit is delayed)
  • Cubster 12 years 10 months ago (view)

Reed Johnson to the DL with a weak back (ta da boom). muskat tweets a Brad Snyder sighting at Wrigley. Soto activated, koyie hill status remains useless but now less visible and w castillo gets to play with Iowa.

and a blast from the past (again, per Rotoworld)... Rich Harden (shoulder) had a successful 15-pitch bullpen session Saturday. The next step is to throw to hitters, but that hasn't been scheduled yet. --- 15 pitches gets him "deep" into the first inning, about the second hitter in the lineup
  • Cubster 12 years 10 months ago (view)

per Rotoworld (with the Astros coming to town on Memorial Day): Wandy Rodriguez was scratched from his scheduled Saturday start on Friday, and will be replaced in the rotation by top Astros prospect Jordan Lyles, who will make his first career start on Tuesday at Wrigley Field. --- Cubs vs pitcher they've never seen: I see "L" flags

Baker's been injured, which is why he hasn't been playing much the last few games. And there's plenty of guys I'd rather see Baker play over than Barney.

Seems strange on the surface, he's always shown a desire to play everyday and kept talking about playing another 2 years to get to 3,000 hits.

Reed Johnson's back is flaring up and he might go on DL. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-0529-bits-cub…
