Wow, I certainly hope Fontenot can reclaim his bat and that Pie can hit, cause otherwise that's going to be a fun bottom of the lineup. Oh well, good defense anyway!

I don't care if Fontenot finds his bat or not, that is the least important guy for us to do well in that lineup.

Well Chad, I think it's vitally important that the bottom 4 people in our lineup do well. We simply cannot do well with 4 automatic outs.

I'm not sure it matters where you hit them in order, automatic outs are automatic outs. Actually, I think it would serve you better to get your automatic outs as far away from the guys who are hitting well as possible. But that's just my take on it.

What I am saying is that if there is a guy who I hope finds his bat, it's felix pie. His ceiling is so much higher than Fontenot's. That if Fontenot reached his potential, he'd be a nice little player on our team, whereas if Felix reaches his potential, we have another game changing superstar. But I would agree that the odds of Fonty getting his act together and contributing as well as he can is higher than Pie's.

Johann: Wow, I certainly hope Fontenot can reclaim his bat and that Pie can hit, cause otherwise that’s going to be a fun bottom of the lineup. Oh well, good defense anyway! Yeah, otherwise they'll be striking out and grounding out softly the entire game. Wait... that's what they've been doing the last 4 days... :(

Finally! I love this lineup! There is no way we can lose tonight. Murton will go 3-4 with 5 RBI. Pie will knock in Kendall twice as they will hit back-to-back doubles in the 2nd and the 7th innings. C'mon power of positive thinking! ... please...

"I predict a 4 game sweep." -------------------------------------- Nah, the Cubs will probably win 1 game.

Cliff Floyd enters to “The Streetbeater” better known as the theme to? (don’t peek) Sorry, I peeked. But that's awesome.

;)

Boy the Rockies are proving how important defense is in Coors field. Glad we have Pie playing...

Looks like the Cubs slump is over.....I credit myself for adding Jimenez to my fantasy team :)

i've decided to change my name to Ted Lilly...now can I have some run support?

Wow, Len gave Kendalls on base percentage with the Cubs....didn't realize it was that high. 3 hits so far for him tonight too, hopefully he can keep that up.

GO Cubs!!! Gwen Stefani---gayest entrance song ever!!!

Comcast Chicago reporting that Ramirez has "fluid in his wrist" and that the Cubs training staff is attributing it to "the violence of his swing." Comcast says Ramirez will not be going on the DL, but that he is not expected to play until Tuesday.

i think the (strap) will bat second on friday nite. also interesting that lou only used zambrano off of the bench.

That's not a very good diagnosis. Is he going to have to start hitting like Juan Pierre to stay healthy? Now that I think about it, that's worked pretty well for Jacque Jones this season.

so 4 games into our road trip at homer friendly parks and who would be the only cub with homers are new right fielder matthew murton ! and he plays defense ! how can he not start friday

Open 40 man spot might see the return of CJ. He’s been okay in Iowa. Teheran has been rocked in his starts this year. SSS of course.

Wouldn’t be shocked seeing another 40 man spot open with Brewer losing his spot.

Word is that Counsell thought Mervis and Wisdom got too much work in yesterday so it will be Wesneski.

no days off til may 9th.  moves may happen if the pen gets too worked tomorrow.

On top of all that…Wicks scratched for Sunday due to “forearm soreness.” Bullpen day again starting with Mervis or Wisdom (or Wesn).

"Morel told reporters after the game that he felt alright, just a little banged up — specifically noting his right hip and both elbows. He did say that he was optimistic about his ability to play on Sunday, though manager Craig Counsell may have other plans."

rsox putting pablo reyes up to pitch...an infielder...cranking 70+mph stuff.

...and of course he gets out of it with no runs scored...that kind of day for the cubs.

...and wisdom replaces mervis on the mound to try to get the last out.

busch is at 3rd, but i wouldn't read too much into that.

wisdom's thrown a couple in the 80s (one of them 88mph), but both missed the strike zone badly.

matt mervis is no david ross on the mound.

    cubs run differential getting destroyed.

matt mervis pitching...wisdom replaces morel at 3rd.

he's featuring some high-50s thunder on the fastball.

through 15 pitches, he's straight up throwing BP...all mid-high 50s lobs.  no way he's going to jose canseco himself out of a job.

on pitch 21 he railed a 75mph fastball missing high on a 0-1 count.  ha.
