Kerry 20K Viewing Party Tonight

Join us for a little pre-preseason debachuary tonight and a final farewell to Kid K in parachat. Plus the Oscars are tonight, so we can pull double duty talking about the red carpet (ZOMG, did you see what Kate Winselt was wearing?)

You have three viewing options, either you own the Chicago Cubs DVD set, Itunes for $2(search for Kerry Wood or a series called Baseball's Best) or Mlb.com(It's the Houston broadcast and you have to register and possibly been a past owner of MLB.tv). Game time is 9pm CST. With no commercials it shouldn't run more than two hours I believe and Transmission should be doing a parachat recap for tomorrow. Maybe this time we can get Kevin Orie to make the play.

Some quick notes from Mesa after the jump...

- Lou is going to ease Carlos Zambrano into their Cactus League rotation.

''There's no reason,'' he said. ''There's just no hurry.''

I'm not suppose to be worrying about his shoulder, right?

- Marmol still hasn't decided offically about the WBC, but sounds like he wants to skip it. Out of the major leaguers,  it'll just be Geovany Soto, Ted Lilly and Kosuke Fukduome missing camp. Speaking of, Fukkadome hit a grand slam yesterday in an exhibition game for Team Japan.

- Jeff Samardzija will start the Cactus League opener on Wednsesday versus the Dodgers.

Hope to see some of you tonight in parachat.

I'm not sure if anybody has mentioned it or not, but MLB Network's "30 Teams in 30 Days" series will cover the Cubs on March 10th.

Won't be there, alas, as I have an early morning over here in GMT+1, but for the record, and to get things started, Trans, you suck. Andrew sent sound: bomb

You know, I don't post much here but I read a lot of you guyses comments and I am amazed at the intelligence and humor here, but, and I'm sorry to say this, you're all a bunch of morans (spelled like how Cardinal fans spell it). I mean, shit, dudes, let it go. Oh boy, here come the flames. Hey, it's Sunday, and this place needs a little controversy. So, I say again, let it go. Spend some time with the fucking kids or something. Sheesh.

in honor of the Academy Awards concurrently going on with tonight's 20K performance, I wanted to re-write the script a bit for a terrific movie that hopefully will get a lot of attention tonight...Slumdog Millionaire The final question should have been: Name the Chicago Cubs current 3rd baseman: a.) Aramis c.) Cardenal Richelieu b.) D'Artagnan d.) Planchet http://www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islis… ----- p.s. I thought Porthos was Captain Archer's beagle

I don't know what a masterpiee is, but I assume it's pronounced "master pee", and that doesn't sound like something I need to be in Parachat for.

So, what happens in this game and why are we gathering to watch it? Kerry Woods earns $20,000 dollars? I thought he was paid much more then that...

How long do you think this internet thing is going to last? Anyone else preparing the Y2K? I've started building a bunker in my backyard.

Folks, I've known Richard Lovelady since he was an 18 yr old Freshman at East Ga State College in Swainsboro, Ga.

I was the WBB Coach at EGSC and Richard was their prize recruit from outside of Hinesville, Ga.

My roommate was the Pitching Coach there.

Richard showed up a skinny, loose lipped, 83mph Lefty. Pretty good basketball player actually.

My roommate became the head coach.

Richard came back from a minor injury for his Sophmore year a more serious man. He hit 90mph and started mowing GA JUCO hitters down. It was really fun to watch.

He was the first D1 signee for EGSC baseball (school had only had athletics for five yrs at that point). He went to Kennesaw St and became their closer. One yr later, he hit 100mph and KC drafted him in the 10th Rd.

He lost the high velo with a surgery a while back.

It's so cool to see him in MLB. And now he's a Cub!! It's crazy to realize I actually "know" a Cub.

    He's a legit good guy.

    Easy to root for!!!
